Rick Washburn Sr.
Director of Senior Ministries
Rick grew up in the Dayton and Vandalia area and was saved while attending a service at VBT on November 20, 1968, after he came home from serving in the Navy. He was serving in the church when God began to call him to ministry. It was at this time that he surrendered to the call to ministry. He then attended the Bible Baptist Seminary in Arlington, Texas. This school later became known as Arlington Baptist College before he graduated in 1975. While in college God laid it on his heart to serve as a church-planting missionary in Colombia. He and his wife Jackie served there as missionaries out of VBT for 38 years and they returned to serve at VBT in 2013. Since that time, Rick helped found the Bridge Builders Bible Institute and has been leading the senior ministries.
